    The Odyssey Channel is looking for a dynamic Strategist to join its Brand Marketing team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Strategy, this person will support the Brand Strategy team in the development of communications strategies that foster ideas, inspire creative thinking and lead to audience awareness, tune-in and fandom. The Brand Strategy team works cross-functionally across multiple disciplines and plays a critical role in establishing the foundation of all marketing campaigns across both networks, while also assisting with other high visibility brand priorities.

    The ideal candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about the entertainment landscape, be comfortable with analyzing consumer research, will be extremely detail-oriented and have great data visualization skills, have strong executive presence and will understand how to translate quantitative and qualitative data into insightful POVs, compelling brand stories and unique selling propositions.

    Pay Rate:  $121,228

    • Leverage data, insights and analysis to help the team define and articulate the unique selling proposition, cultural context and marketing platform for scripted/non-scripted original programming.
    • Work with the Brand Strategy team to understand the media, entertainment, cultural and competitive landscape, including macro & emerging trends, best practices and new technologies impacting our industry.
    • Develop/maintain relationships with internal teams and third-party sources to assist in the development of marketing strategies.
    • Take lead in authoring strategy at-a-glances and summaries of new series across both networks.
    • Manage logistics for internal meetings and strategy presentations.
    Basic Qualifications
    • 5+ years of brand marketing and/or communications experience working on leading-edge consumer and/or entertainment brands.
    • Flawless visual storytelling and data visualization skills that leverage the latest tools (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.) to powerfully bring ideas and insights to life.
    • Ability to translate data from secondary data sources into actionable insights for a campaign
    • A working knowledge of basic quantitative/qualitative research methodologies.

    The Director, Unscripted Development & Current will report directly to the SVP, Alternative Development & Production for The Odyssey Channel. The job function will be ideating, developing and generating ideas for unscripted content. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong passion for unscripted television.

    Pay Rate: $87,400
    • Work with SVP  to develop and produce all  unscripted programming
    • Help develop new and current programming including identifying and securing new talent for projects in development
    • Field pitches, provide notes on cuts and scripts and work with all network departments to coordinate new series launches
    • Guide editorial on pilot/presentations
    • Occasionally attend shoots (may require travel)
    • Build and maintain relationships with production and/or co-production partners

    Senior Vice President, Acquisitions | Raleigh US | The Odyssey Channel

    The Senior Vice President, Acquisitions will be responsible for identifying and acquiring content for the Entertainment The Odyssey Channel across all genres and assist in delivering growth to the business. Working in tandem with the organization’s technology, product, operations, marketing, PR, etc. teams, he/she will collaborate on content initiatives across VENBEYCAP. He/She will build and lead a world-class strategy and acquisition team and foster a culture of collaboration and innovative thinking. The Senior Vice President will report to the CEO.

    Pay Rate: $170,032 per year

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Responsible for evaluating programming opportunities for use on the Entertainment for The Odyssey Channel.
    • Deliver against specific revenue targets for new programming.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with content owners and distributors.
    • Oversee the documenting and tracking of deal points.
    • Manage a large-scale acquisitions budget.
    • Partner with Finance to create proformas and coordinate completion of financials across Sales, Research, and Programming in order to close profitable content deals for the portfolio, creating new ways to structure deals, brainstorm unique ideas for making offers and closing deals.
    • Work with CEO and General Manager to manage approvals for high-priced content deals.
    • Be the expert on new distribution technologies and have extensive knowledge of competitive marketplace.
    • Understand the evolving streaming & digital landscape and be able to translate these changes into our upcoming offers and existing deals.
    • Work with Legal to understand any language changes in our contracts and revise standard deal memos as needed.
    • Work with internal key stakeholders (marketing, PR, development, operations, ad sales) on content opportunities.
    • Attend market and industry events when appropriate, as well as screenings.

    The Person
    The Senior Vice President, Acquisitions will be a highly strategic thinker with a track record of having successfully built and scaled a content/acquisition operation. He/She will display high levels of analytical and strategic rigor paired with excellent interpersonal skills. He/She will also be a highly respected player in the marketplace, with impeccable relationships across the media and entertainment ecosystem and a reputation for being a tough but honest broker and business partner.

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience within the media and entertainment industry, specifically within content acquisition and co-productions within either the film or television.

    • Demonstrated successful track record as a skilled negotiator who can both set up and close deals and the ability to interpret and compile contracts.
    Desired Characteristics
    • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a highly successful acquisitions organization; responsible for all acquisition activities, including evaluating content mix and suitability, financial analysis and forecasting, and deal negotiations.

    • Experience having established and managed a large-scale acquisition budget.

    Position Summary
    Venture Beyond (VENBEYCAP) seeks an Office Manager/ Executive Assistant to support the VENBEYCAP team in its efforts to achieve the organization’s mission and strategic goals. Reporting to the EVP of Business Affairs, the Executive Assistant/ Office Manager will work independently to handle a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. She/ He must be exceptionally well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse individuals. Given the small size of the executive team, the Office Manager/Executive Assistant will also be expected to be a flexible team player and step into the evolving roles critical to advancing the work and success of the organization. The Office Manager/Executive Assistant will regularly interact with executive's and consultants, portfolio executives, clients, potential clients, and community leaders. Through these interactions, the office manager will maintain and enhance a positive image for VENBEYCAP.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Provide competent, well-organized administrative support to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Vice President of Business Affairs (EVP-BA). Provide limited administrative support to up to two additional senior staff as needed;
    • Provide support on traveling and scheduling for the CEO, EVP-BA, and other senior staff as directed by the EVP-BA;
    • Independently manage office operations, including maintaining office supplies, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting, and serve as the lead in relationships with vendors for telephone, internet, office space and office equipment;
    • Provide executive support to the CEO, including but not limited to: draft correspondence and documents, file maintenance and support of documenting foundation programming; triage and respond to email, letters, and telephone inquiries; project management, logistical support of executive functions including meeting coordination and logistics; prepare expense reports, etc.;
    • Provide financial support to the EVP-BA, including but not limited to: code invoices and process checks using; provide backup human resources/payroll support; file office and financial transactions, etc.;
    • Support and maintain office policies and procedures;
    • Performs data entry and supports the upkeep of organizational databases;
    • Serve as the initial point of contact for telephone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding the foundation. Answer telephone calls professionally. Provide preliminary information to internal and external callers as appropriate. Triage and appropriately direct inquiries and requests;
    • Work with staff to plan and execute events, such as report releases, conferences and large meetings;
    • Other duties, responsibilities and/or projects as assigned under the direction of the CEO and/or EVP-BA.
    Requirements/ Qualifications
    • A minimum of 5-year experience as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or related position;
    • Associate degree in a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred;
    • Excellent Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required;
    • Experience with QuickBooks or related accounting software preferred;
    • An overall commitment to excellence in quality of work and outcomes;
    • Track record of adaptability, personal accountability, and initiative;
    • Able to successfully multi-task, respond to rapid change, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines;
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
